In today’s fast-paced society it is getting harder and harder to actually listen. You know, with technology connecting you with everyone at any time, texts, appointments, reminders, alarms, email notifications, (we can keep going here) – actually getting quiet to listen to another human being can be more challenging than ever. However, if your online coaching business is to be successful you will need to hone your listening skills. What was that you said? You are a great listener? That’s why you became a coach? Not so fast…
We all know the importance of trust. Can you imagine trying to build your online coaching business without it? While it takes time to build, it can vanish in an instant and leave you open to bad business and being played(no kidding).
A good Life coach can help someone move forward, a great Life coach can lead someone to achieve things they never thought possible? Which would you prefer to have – the good Life coach or the great Life coach? How would you rate yourself (honestly)? If you truly want a successful online coaching business then excellent leadership skills should totally be your middle name.
As a leader you need to give your clients support while on the other hand show them that you’re not a softie. Here are some guidelines that will help you demonstrate to your clients what a great coach you are.
We all want success. That’s a no-brainer. For example, don’t you want your dream of being a number one online coach to come true? Whether it is fame or fortune, financial security, or even spiritual fulfillment, we all have dreams. Realized dreams open you to what you think is possible and in that allows for more dreams to come true, over and over again.
We all want to fulfill our dreams.
Just one thing we want to watch out for though is fantasizing. Many coaches do not reach their full potential because they fail to differentiate between fantasies and realistic goals. When it comes to your online coaching business, foresight is everything.
It is perfectly fine to have dreams. They can give you acceptable outlets for your wishes. It keeps your hopes alive. You dared to dream of a coaching business, didn’t you? What will make thedifference, however, is the ability to see reality for what it is. You should always translate your dreams into realistic goals.
Don’t run away from reality; Face it and change it.
Don’t lie to yourself. Anymore at least, we’ve all done it. We’ve all fallen into the idea of something and what it would be like to have it. But, dreams are not reality till you make them so. You can avoid this situation by setting achievable goals. Do aS-W-O-T analysis. That is, Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. (I’ll explain exactly how to do this in a coming article.) It is going to be a little uncomfortable if you’ve never analyzed your own dreams and lofty thinking before. I promise though, you will feel stronger in your business building when you do. You’ve heard it before – the knowledge and clarity you have, the more likely it is that you will get what you want.
There are no Cinderella stories, but facing demons is an every day thing.
See yourself for who you are and be free to make the changes that will pay off in the long run.
You’d be surprised what clarity of mind can do for you. Don’t be afraid to let go of ideas you have, things you thought would work and even a future you thought you wanted.
But please don’t get lost in your dreams, while the world whizzes by.
It can change your business for the better and the people whose lives you set out to change, your clients. You can be a coaching superhero! See your setbacks for just that, setbacks. With a clear and realistic plan, move ahead with your online coaching dreams.
Watch for the how-to on the S-W-O-T Analysis soon.
It’s your absolute favorite thing right? Probably not. I know you are afraid of it to the point that it can stand in the way of your success. Especially when building your life coaching or wellness coaching business, the risk is scary.
Isn’t it ironic that in trying so hard to avoid your fears, you end up hugging them tightly to your chest? What’s up with that?
What form of communication allows you to build trust the best? Should you focus on email or social media? What about Instagram? Maybe you need a new camera or best of the best phone for video? For most, staying ahead of the tech curve is simply a distraction and not the best use of your time.
When it comes to Email, many may believe that it is outdated and that social media is the new “in thing” or whatever the new quick, snap, chat, send, app of the day is. Everyone believes that social media is THE way to stay connected with your clients. But does it build trust?
